Please read these terms carefully. By purchasing a ProtectMyVehicle policy, you agree to be bound by the conditions set out below.
Last updated: September 2026
All vehicles must be serviced within the manufacturer's recommended schedule.
Parts must fail entirely for a claim to be approved — wear and tear is not covered.
Labour paid at £60/hour plus VAT.
Claim limits vary by tier — ask your dealer what cover you have.
These Terms and Conditions form the contract between ProtectMyVehicle ("the Company"), the selling dealership ("the Dealer"), and the vehicle purchaser ("the Customer").
By purchasing a ProtectMyVehicle policy, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full.
The warranty is sold through authorised dealers only and is underwritten on a per-vehicle basis. The level of cover, claim limit, and term length are determined at the point of sale by the Dealer.
ProtectMyVehicle policies are issued in three tiers — Basic (Level 1), Advanced (Level 2), and Diamond (Level 3). Each tier provides different levels of component coverage and carries a different maximum claim limit.
The specific claim limit applicable to your policy is determined by the tier of cover purchased and is set at the point of sale. Customers should ask their Dealer what level of cover and claim limit they have.
The maximum payable under any single claim, and in aggregate across the policy term, shall not exceed the claim limit specified on your policy schedule. Any repair costs exceeding this limit are the responsibility of the Customer.
All vehicles covered under a ProtectMyVehicle policy must be serviced in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's recommended service schedule, using manufacturer-approved parts and lubricants.
Service intervals must not be exceeded by more than 500 miles or 30 days, whichever occurs first. Proof of servicing must be retained and made available upon request when submitting a claim.
Servicing must be carried out by a VAT-registered garage or main dealer. Home servicing and self-maintenance do not satisfy the warranty servicing requirements unless documented evidence of competence and parts used can be provided.
Failure to maintain the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule will invalidate the warranty and claims may be refused.
Warranty claims will only be approved where a covered component has failed entirely. Progressive wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or partial failure of a component does not constitute a valid claim.
A component is considered to have "failed entirely" where it has suffered a sudden and unexpected mechanical or electrical breakdown that renders it incapable of performing its normal function.
Claims arising from pre-existing faults, known defects at the point of sale, or faults present prior to the policy start date are not covered.
Claims must be reported to ProtectMyVehicle before any repair work commences. Unauthorised repairs will not be reimbursed.
Warranty claims will be paid at a labour rate of £60 per hour plus VAT. This rate applies regardless of the repairing garage's standard hourly rate.
Where the repairing garage's labour rate exceeds £60 per hour plus VAT, the Customer is responsible for paying the difference directly to the repairing garage.
Parts will be reimbursed at the manufacturer's trade list price. Fitting times are determined using manufacturer-published standard repair times.
VAT is only reimbursable where the repairing garage is VAT-registered and a valid VAT invoice is provided.
Payment is made directly to the repairing garage upon approval of the claim. The Customer is responsible for any excess or contribution as specified on their policy schedule.
In the event of a component failure, the Customer must contact ProtectMyVehicle or their selling Dealer at the earliest opportunity and before any repair work is authorised or commenced.
The Customer must provide: the policy reference number, vehicle registration, description of the fault, and the details of the proposed repairing garage.
ProtectMyVehicle reserves the right to appoint an independent engineer to inspect the vehicle and assess the claim before authorising repairs.
Once a claim is authorised, repairs must be carried out by the approved repairing garage. Invoices must be submitted within 30 days of repair completion.
The following are excluded from cover under all tiers unless explicitly listed as included in the policy schedule:
The Customer must ensure the vehicle is maintained in a roadworthy condition and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule.
The Customer must check oil, coolant, and other fluid levels regularly and address any dashboard warnings promptly.
The Customer must not continue to drive the vehicle after a fault has become apparent, as doing so may cause further damage and invalidate the claim.
The Customer must provide all reasonable access to the vehicle for inspection and repair by ProtectMyVehicle or its appointed representatives.
The Customer may cancel the policy within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, provided no claim has been made.
After 30 days, the Customer may cancel the policy at any time. Refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for the unexpired term, less an administration fee of £25.
ProtectMyVehicle reserves the right to cancel the policy in the event of fraud, misrepresentation, or material breach of these Terms and Conditions. No refund will be given in such circumstances.
If a claim has been made and paid during the policy term, no refund will be given on cancellation.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from or in connection with this warranty shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
ProtectMyVehicle is a product of the selling Dealer. The Dealer is the contract holder and is responsible for the administration of all claims under this warranty.
